UEFA welcomes today's decision of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) confirming the involvement of Malta's Kevin Sammut in an attempt to manipulate the outcome of the 2006–08 UEFA European Football Championship Group C qualifying match between Norway and Malta (4-0) in Oslo on 2 June 2007.

With this decision, the CAS confirmed the ten-year suspension imposed by the UEFA Control and Disciplinary Body on 17 August 2012. The CAS nevertheless rejected the life ban imposed by the UEFA Appeals Body on 03 December 2012, considering that "a ten-year ban from any football-related activity is commensurate to Mr Sammut's infraction of the rules".
