UEFA visit
A group of England supporters came to Nyon earlier in the day to visit UEFA's headquarters. The fans also took part in three matches at the impressive Colovray stadium opposite UEFA's HQ – the children played local club Stade Nyonnais's Under-10 team, winning 3-2. A 'veteran' England fans' team beat their UEFA counterparts 1-0, and a match featuring younger players ended goalless.
Nyon host
Nyon, a town on the shores of Lake Leman some 25km from Geneva, has been home to UEFA since 1995. The Stade Colovray has hosted a number of international and club teams for pre-season training sessions down the years. The initiative was backed by the Swiss office of the British Council, keen to promote a positive relationship between Swiss and English football followers.
