The new UEFA Diploma in Football Leadership and Management (DFLM) is an advanced project-based programme to further core leadership and managerial skills, focusing on negotiation, decision-making and project implementation.

One programme is organised yearly, comprising e-learning and three face-to-face seminars, and is attended by 20 managers working for UEFA member associations who first graduated from the UEFA Certificate in Football Management (UEFA CFM).

Participants apply to attend the programme with a project relating to their national association's strategy and which can be used for the face-to-face seminar work and the e-learning modules. They are also assigned an experienced mentor who will advise them on project management as well as soft skills and self-awareness.

Run by UEFA in collaboration with leading academic and professional experts, the programme contains four online modules:

• Project conceptualisation
• Project planning and presentation
• Negotiation
• Leadership

These have been identified as key components in developing future leaders, combining soft skills with the necessary experience to thrive in national associations.

The programme is delivered in partnership with the Swiss Graduate School of Public Administration (IDHEAP) at the University of Lausanne. A total of 30 ECTS credits are awarded on successful completion of the programme.
