FK Austria Wien let slip an early lead against city rivals SK Rapid Wien as the 229th meeting between the sides ended in a 1-1 draw.
Dream opening
Sigurd Rushfeldt, on loan from Spanish side Racing Santander, gave the home side a dream start when he headed the opening goal after just two minutes from a Vladimir Janocko cross.
Rapid level
Rapid were soon level, however, René Wagner equalising seven minutes later with a thunderous shot from the edge of the box. Adam Ledwon hit the bar for Wien in first-half stoppage time but that was as close as they got to breaching the Rapid defence for a second time.
