JK Trans Narva moved top of the Meistriliiga with a 2-0 win over JK Tulevik Viljandi on Wednesday.

JK Trans Narva moved top of the Estonian Meistriliiga tonight after recording a 2-0 home victory over JK Tulevik Viljandi.

Lipartov opener
Dmitri Lipartov gave Narva the lead on 37 minutes before Maksim Gruznov scored his sixth goal of the season to make it 2-0 on the stroke of half-time. Narva now have ten points from their four matches this term, one ahead of second-placed FC Flora.

Jaroszewski the hero
Polish goalkeeper Damian Jaroszewski was the hero for FC Levadia Maardu as they beat TVMK Tallinn 2-1 to move into third place in the table. Maardu, the 1999 and 2000 champions, took the lead after five minutes when Vladimir Tshelnokov scored from close range after a mistake by TVMK goalkeeper Sergei Ussoltsev.

Birthday boy
Tshelnokov, who was celebrating his 22nd birthday, then crossed for Vitali Leitan to make it 2-0 but TVMK hit back soon after when Andrei Krõlov converted Maksim Smirnov's cross. Jaroszewski's remarkable save from Maksim Kisseljov's late effort secured the points for Maardu. "We made a slow start to the season, but now we are getting our act together," said Maardu captain Sergei Hohlov-Simson.

Pärnu earn draw
In the day's other match, FC Levadia Tallinn raced into a 2-0 first-half lead against FC Levadia Pärnu but were eventually held to a 2-2 draw. Ruslan Jagudin and Pavel Apalinski put the visitors ahead but Andrus Mitt and Verner Uibo secured a share of the spoils.
