AC Sparta Praha defeated MUS Most 2-0 at the Letná stadium to reach the final of the Czech Cup.

Heavy work
Yet a full-strength Sparta made heavy work of beating a team one division below them and struggling against relegation. The home side had a gilt-edged opportunity to forge ahead in the 34th minute, but Tomáš Cízek sent the ball wide from the penalty spot after a foul on Tomáš Jun.

Young gun
It was the 19-year-old Jun, the youngest player on the pitch, who finally broke Most's dogged resistance just before the interval when he scored his fourth goal in five games. The threat from the visitors - who have knocked out three top-flight teams on their way to the semi-final - was finally extinguished when defender Zdenek Grygera scored from the spot eight minutes from time.

Final countdown
The other semi-final, between SK Slavia Praha and Baník Ostrava, is being be played tomorrow, with the final being staged on 13 May.
