French international midfield player Bernard Diomède has joined AC Ajaccio on loan from Liverpool FC.

Unsettling period
The 29-year-old, a member of the France squad that won the 1998 FIFA World Cup, struggled to settle at Liverpool despite the club's French manager Gérard Houllier. He joined the English Premiership side from AJ Auxerre in 2000 and will stay at Ajaccio until the end of the current season.

'I feel I'm wanted'
"I feel I'm wanted and it's a nice feeling," said Diomède, who has eight international caps. "Ajaccio will perhaps help me start a new career." Liverpool recently loaned another French player, Grégory Vignal, to SC Bastia.
