Still in France, midfielder Yacine Abdessadki is to make a swift return to RC Strasbourg, just six months after leaving the club for Toulouse FC. The 25-year-old starred for UEFA Cup contenders Strasbourg last season, but failed to make an impression following his move to the south-west. He is expected to ink a two-and-a-half year contract.

Midfielder Ján Kozák is poised to become the fourth FC Artmedia player to leave the Slovakian title-holders this month after agreeing a loan switch to West Bromwich Albion FC until the end of the season, with the option of a permanent transfer. The 25-year-old follows Balázs Borbély, Ján Ďurica and Blažej Vaščák out of Artmedia, who played in this season's UEFA Champions League group stage.

Wigan Athletic FC have completed the loan signing of Tottenham Hotspur FC's Reto Ziegler for the remainder of the English Premiership campaign. The 20-year-old Swiss international can play on the left side of defence or midfield, and spent the first half of the season on loan at Hamburger SV in Germany. Wigan manager Paul Jewell said: "He's a strong six-footer with a lot of pace and hunger and has packed a lot into his short career."

SL Benfica have loaned defender João Pereira and forward João Vilela to Portuguese Liga rivals Gil Vicente FC. The 21-year-old Pereira, who can operate at full-back or in midfield, is out of favour with coach Ronald Koeman. "I need to be playing regularly to be called up for the 2006 UEFA European Under-21 Championship," he said. Meanwhile, the 20-year-old Vilela has been playing for Benfica's B team this season.

Brazilian Under-20 international Jardel Sousa has joined Portuguese club CS Marítimo from Cruzeiro EC. The 22-year-old midfielder is expected to arrive in Madeira on Tuesday. "I am thrilled with the transfer and hope everything goes to plan," said Sousa.

RC Deportivo La Coruña have loaned defender Pablo Amo to second-division Real Valladolid for the rest of the season. The 28-year-old has not played a Spanish league game this term.

KRC Genk announced today that their Nigerian midfielder Sunday Oliseh has left the club as the 31-year-old is looking for a "new chapter" in his career. The former AFC Ajax, Juventus and BV Borussia Dortmund player joined the Belgian side on a free transfer last summer.
