Dušan Bajević felt "absolutely honoured" after being appointed to replace Walter Zenga as coach of Serbo-Montenegrin double winners FK Crvena Zvezda.

Greek successes
The 58-year-old has agreed a two-year contract with the Belgrade side after winning his coaching spurs in Greece, where he won seven Alpha Ethniki titles with Olympiacos CFP and AEK Athens FC. "Crvena Zvezda is a great club not just by Serbian standards and I am absolutely honoured to have taken over," he said.

Zenga moves on
The former Yugoslavia international has taken control after one-time Italy goalkeeper Zenga stepped down having reportedly receiving lucrative offers to coach elsewhere. His replacement will now lead Crvena Zvezda as they start their UEFA Champions League challenge in the second qualifying round.

Great conditions
"I believe the conditions have been created for a successful spell with a trophy-laden and ambitious club such as Crvena Zvezda," said Bajević, while the club's president Dragan Stojković added: "Bajevic is the right solution for us. I think we have made an excellent choice bearing in mind his reputation."
