Double dream
With still four rounds left before the end of the season the newly-crowned champions can now focus their attentions on winning the double, which will require a Cup final win against Slaven Belupo. Dinamo’s successful season has centred around key performances from three young Croatian internationals who have inspired their side this season. Defender Vedran Ćorluka, midfielder Luka Modrić and forward Eduardo da Silva have been Branko Ivanković's mainstays and Eduardo is the league's top scorer with 25 goals, with Goran Vlaović's record of 29 in a season now in his sights.
Goals record
Despite pressure mounting on the Rio de Janeiro-born Croatian international, Eduardo says he is not too concerned by the hype surrounding the 30-goal target. "I am already very satisfied with my performance in this season," he said. "I know I have a chance to break the record but I will not be disappointed if I don't. We've been working very hard this season and this [the title] is what we waited for. We have a good team and we showed that we are worth something."
Derby celebration
The club’s executive vice president Zdravko Mamić said: "We will celebrate after the last round and the home derby match against HNK Hajduk Split but I am really proud of the coach Ivanković, the players and especially Zoran Mamić." Team captain Zoran Mamić retired this season and took over the sports director position and he is already said to be busy scouting players for Dinamo's European campaign next season.
