APOEL FC's Argentinian striker Esteban Solari has been voted Player of the Year in Cyprus while their manager Marinos Ouzounidis claimed the coaching honours.

APOEL tribute
The 26-year-old Solari, the first division's top scorer with 20 goals from 24 games, was a key figure as APOEL won their 19th league title, while the club's Greek coach Ouzounidis - formerly a player at Panathinaikos FC, Le Havre AC and APOEL - was rewarded for his efforts in the awards organised by the Cyprus Football Association.

Awards ceremony
APOEL received a further accolade for providing the most players for the senior and Under-21 national sides, while a special prize went to Ethnikos Achnas FC, UEFA Intertoto Cup winners last summer. AEL Limassol FC's 21-year-old midfielder Elias Vattas was selected as the island's best young player, with team-mate Nicolas Vitorovic the outstanding U21 talent. The ceremony also saw Cyprus coach Angelos Anastasiadis hand Anorthosis Famagusta FC defender Lambros Lambrou the gong for best national team player while Panagiotis Gerasimou and Marios Tsangaris were acclaimed as Cyprus's best referees. The season concludes on Saturday as AC Omonia face Anorthosis in the Cypriot Cup final.
