Arsenal FC midfielder Aleksandr Hleb has been voted the Belarus footballer of the year for the fifth time in six years.

The 26-year-old topped the poll in the country's Pressball newspaper, receiving 818 points, with FC Moskva goalkeeper Yuri Zhevnov runner-up on 314. Hleb has now been crowned Belarus' best player more times than anyone else, surpassing Sergei Gotsmanov who picked up the crown four times in the 1980's. The coaches and captain's of the senior and under-21 sides, Vysshaya Liga clubs, as well as referees and journalists all took part in the annual poll.
