Sporting Clube de Portugal denied champions FC Porto a domestic double thanks to a 2-0 extra-time win in the Portuguese Cup final at the Estádio Nacional.

Second-half dismissal
The sides could not be separated after 90 minutes, but Porto's chances were greatly diminished when they were reduced to ten men in the 70th minute after João Paulo's foul on João Moutinho was punished with a red card.

Deflected opener
Sporting broke the deadlock in extra time with a goal from substitute Rodrigo Tiuí in the 110th minute, the ball taking a deflection off defender Pedro Emanuel to leave goalkeeper Nuno helpless.

Spectacular volley
The Brazilian forward was the man of the match as he scored the second goal courtesy of an acrobatic volley from inside the area with four minutes remaining to give Sporting their second consecutive win in the Portuguese Cup and their 15th success in the competition overall.
