Dunfermline Athletic FC defender Andrius Skerla has signed a new three-year deal with the ambitious Fife club.

'Reward for service'
The Lithuanian's current contract was due to expire in the summer, but manager Jimmy Calderwood sees him as a key part of the Scottish club's future plans. Chairman John Yorkston said: "Andrius has been one of the most consistent players since he joined us and this is reward for the service he has given us."

Search off
Dunfermline have called off their search for a new goalkeeper with the news that Marco Ruitenbeek is on his way back. Calderwood had feared that the Dutchman would miss the rest of the season with a thigh injury, but he is set to return after missing six games. Dunfermline assistant manager Jimmy Nicholl said: "We thought about bringing another keeper in, but won't need to now."
