Hammarby IF FF, last season's Allsvenskan champions, slumped to the bottom of the standings following a 2-1 defeat at Örebro SK FK tonight.
Season of woe
Hammarby's season of woe took another dire turn at the Eyravallen stadium, as the Stockholm club suffered their sixth defeat of the new campaign. Midfield player Mikael Steen, making his 250th Allsvenskanliga appearance for Örebro, proved to be his side's hero with two well-taken goals. The veteran opened the scoring after eight minutes and doubled the lead on the half-hour mark.
Pohja consolation
Hammarby, who are now a point adrift of IFK Norrköping and Halmstads BK at the foot of the table, looked the better side in the second half but had to wait until the 82nd minute to score, Finnish substitute Antti Pohja reducing the arrears.
Lucic secures point
Meanwhile, an 80th-minute header from defender Teddy Lucic enabled AIK Solna to salvage a point from their trip to Halmstad, the match ending in a 1-1 draw. Halmstad's Robert Andersson had opened the scoring with a fine left-footed effort after 48 minutes.
Red card
There was also a late leveller as IF Elfsborg were held to a 2-2 draw at home by Norrköping. Elfsborg took the lead twice before being reduced to ten men in the 82nd minute when Martin Andersson was dismissed after a clash with Jonas Wallerstedt. That proved costly to the home side as David Banaczek fired in from the spot six minutes later, after a foul on Kristian Bergström.
Bild on target
Elfborg first went ahead through a Mikael Ström own goal after 20 minutes. Fredrik Bild drew Norrköping level before a header from Hasse Berggren restored Elfborg's lead five minutes before the break.
