Odessa duo head for Atyrau

Members

FK Atyrau have signed two players from Ukrainian side FC Chornomorets Odesa as they bid for the title.

New name
Atyrau have brought in 26-year-old midfield player Igor Mygalatyuk and 28-year-old goalkeeper Vadym Vinokurov to join an already impressive Ukrainian contingent at the club. "Atyrau are capable of completing the task for this season, which is to win the first title in club's history," said Mygalatyuk. "The championship starts on 12 April and we have enough time to settle in."

Odessa community
Coached by former Chornomorets head coach Olexandr Golokolosov, Atyrau already count among their number Ivan Korponay, Vitaly Kitsak and Serhiy Pasko, all of whom played for the Odessa-based club.

More signings
Two more Chornomorets players, Serhiy Kostyuk and Vyacheslav Yeremeev, are also likely to agree deals with Atyrau in the next few days as the club try to come to terms with the loss of international Under-21 player Igor Yurin.

Lost talent
The Kazakh midfield player joined 2002 Kazakh Cup winners FC Zhenis Astana on a two-year contract. However, Atyrau will fancy their chances of competing with Zhenis and reigning champions FC Irtysh Pavlodar in the new season.
