Sweden goalkeeper Andreas Isaksson has followed Tunisia defender Hatem Trabelsi to Manchester City FC after sealing a €3m move from Stade Rennais FC.

Sweden goalkeeper Andreas Isaksson has completed his €3m move to English Premiership outfit Manchester City FC, where he is reported to have signed a three-year contract.

Sweden No1
"To come to England and play for a club like Manchester City is an honour for me," said Isaksson, who joins from French side Stade Rennais FC where he played 62 games in two seasons. Isaksson, who appeared in three of Sweden's four FIFA World Cup matches to take his cap count to 42, will replace the Portsmouth FC-bound English international David James at City. The 24-year-old also lists Trelleborgs FF, Juventus and Djurgårdens IF FF among his former teams.

Trabelsi switch
Isaksson's arrival follows that of Tunisian international Hatem Trabelsi, a veteran of five campaigns with AFC Ajax. The 29-year-old right-back was released by the Dutch club in the summer before representing his country at the World Cup. He sealed his free transfer last Thursday, with City manager Stuart Pearce saying: "I have watched him play for Ajax over the last three years and been very impressed."
