Glen De Boeck will take over as coach of Cercle Brugge KSV on 1 July after agreeing to leave his current post as assistant coach at RSC Anderlecht.

Sole command
The former Belgian international defender has signed a two-year contract at his new club after agreeing to step out of the shadows of Anderlecht coach Frank Vercauteren. He will take over from Harm Van Veldhoven, who has agreed to join KFC Germinal Beerschot Antwerpen. Capped 36 times for Belgium, the 35-year-old De Boeck played for FC Boom, KV Mechelen and Anderlecht but was forced to retire in February 2005 because of a knee injury, taking up his current position at Anderlecht shortly afterwards.
