One-year deal
The 26-year-old Brazilian has signed a deal for the 2008/09 season having been without a side since being released by Club Atlético de Madrid. He had moved to Atlético from his first professional club FC Barcelona in summer 2007 for €2m but only made six league appearances, and in March suffered the latest recurrence of a serious knee injury dating back to 2004. Motta, capped eight times by Brazil, has since undergone surgery in the United States and has passed a Genoa medical.
