RSC Anderlecht attacking midfielder Mbark Boussoufa has been voted the best player with African roots in Belgium for a second time.

Drogba involved
The 24-year-old received the Ebbenhouten Schoen (Ebony Boot) from Chelsea FC and Ivory Coast striker Didier Drogba at a ceremony in Brussels on Monday night. The Amsterdam-born Moroccan international, who has scored ten league goals in 32 games for the Eerste Klasse leaders this season, topped a poll of coaches from the top three divisions, football writers, and a panel of experts.

Moroccan roots
Boussoufa previously landed the award in 2006 – when he was also voted Belgium's Player of the Year, Players' Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year on the back of an impressive campaign for KAA Gent. He succeeds Marouane Fellaini, the Everton FC midfield player, who won the award in 2008 while still at R. Standard de Liège.
