Austrian and European football is mourning the former general secretary of the Austrian Football Association (ÖFB), Otto Demuth, who has passed away at the age of 92.
Otto Demuth joined the ÖFB in 1950. He was head of the association’s management office from 1965 and served as ÖFB general secretary from 1972 to 1985.
He was a member of the UEFA Appeals Body from 1976 to 1980, and a member of the UEFA Control and Disciplinary Body from 1980 to 1992.
In 2004, Otto Demuth was recognised for his services to European football with the UEFA Order of Merit in Ruby.
