013 - Tickets for UEFA Champions League Final in Munich, Germany, go on sale today

The ticket sales for the UEFA Champions League Final 2012 start today, Thursday 1 March at 12.00CET exclusively via Europe’s football website UEFA.com. The final will be played at the Fussball Arena München on Saturday 19 May at 20.45 local time. The general ticket sales period finishes on 16 March at 18.00CET.

As usual, fans and the general public are allocated the majority of the tickets, a total of 42,000, which represents over two thirds of the net stadium capacity of 62,500. The two finalist teams will get 17,500 tickets each for distributing to their supporters. This means that 35,000, or over half the tickets, are allocated to the two finalists, to ensure a lively atmosphere at the final match. In addition, a further 7,000 tickets are available for sale to fans worldwide via UEFA.com. The remaining tickets are allocated to the local organising committee, UEFA’s 53 national football associations, and commercial and broadcast partners.

There has been an overall decrease in ticket prices and administration fees for this season’s UEFA Champions League Final, compared to last year, and a new lower priced category-4 band has been added to the general public sales. In setting ticket prices for this year’s final, UEFA consulted closely with the independent Football Supporters Europe network (FSE).

The ticket price categories available for the general public are:

Category 1 370 EUR

Category 2 260 EUR

Category 3 160 EUR

Category 4 70 EUR

Wheelchair access 70 EUR

Youth package 140 EUR

(1 adult + 1 child ticket in category 2)

This year once again sees UEFA offer of 200 youth packages for the final. These are 400 paired tickets available to 200 children accompanied by an adult. The two finalist clubs will also receive 100 youth packages each of 200 paired tickets. One youth package is made up of two category 2 tickets (1 adult/1 youth) and is priced at 140 euros per package, or 70 euros per ticket, which is significantly lower than regular tickets in this price category.

Applicants can apply for up to two tickets per person. They will be informed via email by 2 April whether their application has been successful or not. They will also be able to check the status of their application on the ticket portal with their log in information after this date. Tickets will be dispatched by the end of April by secure mail.

The administration fee per shipment covers handling and safe courier delivery of ticket(s) and is 10 euros within Germany, 20 euros inside Europe and 35 euros outside Europe. Payment can be made by credit card only.
