Signori going to Greece

Former Italian international striker Giuseppe Signori has signed a one-year contract with Iraklis FC.

Carrying on
The 36-year-old had announced in April that he was leaving Bologna FC, citing the "mental and physical pressures of a season at the highest level". Many had expected the player to retire at the end of that campaign but he has been persuaded to continue his career in Greece. "I am anxious to play for my new team, Iraklis," said Signori. "I will give my best to achieve our goals for the season."

International experience
Signori spent six seasons with Bologna, having previously played for Foggia Calcio, UC Sampdoria and S.S. Lazio. His final match for Bologna was a 2-1 defeat at AC Chievo Verona on 16 May. He was capped 28 times by his country, scoring seven goals.
