Andriy Pavelko has been elected as the new president of the Football Federation of Ukraine (FFU). He has served as interim head of the association since January.
Dnipropetrovsk-born Pavelko headed the football association of Dnipropetrovsk from 2001 and was elected to the FFU executive committee in 2003. The 39-year-old was appointed acting president of the FFU in January when Anatoliy Konkov stepped down. He graduated from the Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University and also serves currently as a member of the Ukrainian parliament.
"We are turning a new page in the history of Ukranian football," said Pavelko. "We need to make some reforms and we have to start right away. I emphasised UEFA's 11 key values in my pre-election programme, and these values have to become fundamental for our activities and those of our regional federations and other members of our team."
