Alexandre Lacazette has been named the Ligue 1 player of the year by his fellow footballers at the Trophées UNFP ceremony.

The Olympique Lyonnais forward has helped himself to 27 goals from 33 appearances in the league so far this term and denied Zlatan Ibrahimović a third successive triumph at the awards. "It is an honour for me," the 23-year-old said. "Since I was a kid I dreamed of winning this kind of award, and leaving a mark on French football."

On the day after he led his Paris Saint-Germain team to a third consecutive Ligue 1 crown, Laurent Blanc was named as the division's best coach. Nabil Fekir was honoured as best young player to give Lyon a second award in the men's categories, while OL midfielder Eugénie Le Sommer was named as the top women's player.
