Article body
RC Celta de Vigo have appointed former Club Atlético Osasuna boss Miguel Lotina as their new coach, the Galician club announced tonight.
Changing scene
Lotina will be presented at a press conference at Celta's Balaídos stadium tomorrow. The move is the latest turn on a managerial merry-go-round set in motion within days of the Primera División ending.
Fernandez to Betis
Lotina replaces Víctor Fernandez, who is set to take over at Real Betis Balompié following the departure of Juande Ramos to RCD Espanyol as replacement for Paco Flores, who failed to win a contract extension.
Financial success
Fernandez is a hard act to follow after he lead Celta into the UEFA Cup in four consecutive seasons, turning the provincial side into a force in the Spanish first division. However, during spells with CD Numancia and Osasuna, Lotina earned a reputation for making the best of meagre resources. He took Osasuna into the top flight in his first season in charge and has kept them there despite having little to spend for the last two seasons.
