Third new face
The 26-year-old centre-back, who has won 35 caps for his country and appeared at both UEFA EURO 2004™ and last year's FIFA World Cup finals, moved to PSG from Club Brugge KV in the summer of 2005 and went on to make 75 Ligue 1 appearances in his two seasons with the club, helping them win the French Cup in 2006. He becomes new Newcastle manager Sam Allardyce's third signing of the summer after Australian international striker Mark Viduka and Joey Barton, who joined from Manchester City FC.
