Antonioli signs for Sampdoria

Members

Sampdoria UC have snapped up veteran goalkeeper Francesco Antonioli on a free transfer from AS Roma.

Two-year contract
Antonioli, 34, has agreed a two-year contract with the newly promoted Genoese club, after Roma decided to release him. Antonioli was the starting goalkeeper for Roma during their title-winning 2000/01 season but lost his place to Ivan Pelizzoli.

Marazzina unveiled
Sampdoria have been very active in the transfer market since making sure of a return to Serie A at the end of last season. The club have also unveiled Italian international striker Massimo Marazzina, who has arrived on a one-year loan from AC Chievo Verona with a view to a permanent transfer. Marazzina, 29, had a similar spell at Roma last season.

New recruits
Antonioli and Marazzina are the eighth and ninth new recruits at Sampdoria since their top-flight comeback. Giulio Falcone, Cristiano Doni, Massimo Donati, Cristian Zenoni, Atsushi Yanagisawa, Luca Antonini and Stefano Aimo Diana have all already signed for the Genoa-based club.
