Recent appointment
Ivic, 67, was appointed by the club's new sporting manager, Bernard Tapie, until the end of the season after Spaniard Javier Clemente was sacked last April after just five months in charge.

Heart problems
The Croatian guided Marseille to a 2-1 win over CS Sedan-Ardennes that ended their relegation fears. Ivic resigned as coach of Belgian side R. Standard de Liège late last year after suffering from heart problems.

Second stint
He was in his second stint at Marseille and has also coached HNK Hajduk Split, AFC Ajax, RSC Anderlecht, Galatasaray SK, Paris Saint-Germain FC, Club Atlético de Madrid and SL Benfica, as well as the national teams of Croatia and Iran.
