Muslin quits as Crvena Zvezda coach

Slavoljub Muslin has quit as coach of Yugoslavian champions FK Crvena Zvezda following the club's poor start to the season.

Resigned on Sunday
Muslin chose to resign immediately after Sunday night's 3-1 win over FK Zvezdara, only their second victory of the campaign.

Under fire
He had been under fire since the Yugoslavs' elimination from the Champions League by Bayer 04 Leverkusen - and things went from bad to worse last week when Crvena Zvezda exited the UEFA Cup at the hands of FC CSCA Kyiv.

'Decision is final'
"I had thought about resigning after the match in Leverkusen, but now this is the right time," Muslin said. "My decision is final. When I resign, I leave. I wish the players the best of luck."

Row with striker
Muslin has been accused of causing unrest in the club's dressing room. He had a public row with striker Mihajlo Pjanovic in the wake of the Champions League exit to Leverkusen.

Unsettled atmosphere
Pjanovic, who refused to travel back to Yugoslavia with the club after that setback, blamed Muslin for the unsettled atmosphere at the club.

In the frame
Reports in Yugoslavia say that Crvena Zvezda, who are 10th in the table, are already been linked with former FK Obilic boss Stanislav Karasi.
