Stan's the man for Brasov

Gabriel Stan has returned to coach FC Brasov following the sacking of Adrian Harlab.

Left in summer
Stan took Brasov into the UEFA Cup last year by steering the club to third in Romania’s Divizia A, but he left during the summer to coach SC Astra Ploiesti instead.

Indifferent start
This season Brasov crashed out of the UEFA Cup at the first hurdle, going down 6-0 against Italian giants Internazionale FC. That defeat, coupled with an indifferent start to the league season, led to Harlab's sacking and a recall for Stan.

Two-year contract
The coach returns on a two-year contract while Astra have appointed Florin Stancu as temporary coach.
