Brescia boosted by Baggio news

Brescia Calcio have been boosted by the news that talismanic frontman Roberto Baggio will miss only two matches with the knee injury he suffered on Sunday.

The northern club feared the Italy legend was facing a lengthy lay-off after picking up the knock following his winning goal in the 1-0 success at Piacenza FC.

Given hope
But tests showed Baggio's right knee had not become inflamed by the injury and gave the 34-year-old hope that he will soon be adding to his 177 Italian league goals.

Venezia next
Baggio has been instrumental in lifting Brescia into eighth spot in Serie A and Carlo Mazzone's team can scarcely afford to be without him for long. Brescia's first test without Baggio will be a home league encounter with AC Venezia at the weekend.
