Romanian club FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt have appointed Marin Barbu as their new coach following the recent departure of Jean Gavrila.

Previous experience
The 43-year-old Barbu takes charge of the Divizia A club having previously held management positions with FC Precizia Sacele, FC Foresta Suceava, FC Brasov and FC Petrolul Ploiesti.

Goals record
As a player, Barbu made his name with FC Steaua Bucuresti, FC Olt and Brasov, scoring a total of 44 first division goals in 204 appearances. As a coach, he helped Foresta win promotion to the top flight before spells with Brasov and Petrolul.

Six games
Gavrila left Ceahlaul after just five weeks and six games in charge, following talks with club officials. In that short time, he led the team to two wins and two defeats in the league and a place in the quarter-finals of the FRF Cup.

Third manager
Barbu will be Ceahlaul's third manager of the season, after the departures of Gavrila and Florin Marin. Ceahlaul currently find themselves in eleventh place in the league table with 14 points, only four points more than CF Sportul Studentesc who are 15th and occupy a relegation place.
