Hopes slimmed
Vernonen scored for the visitors in the 80th minute to deny Jaro victory after they had led since the 23rd minute. Rami Louke had put home side Jaro ahead, but their hopes of victory against the team who finished second-bottom in the top flight have now slimmed.
Play-off chance
Jaro, who took second place in division one this season, will travel to Jokerit for Sunday's second leg.
