Bologna FC striker Beppe Signori is out for another month after tests confirmed he had suffered a recurrence of his thigh injury.

Problem aggravated
The 33-year-old aggravated the problem during a Coppa Italia match against Atalanta BC on Saturday. He lasted only 15 minutes of the game, which was his first start since suffering the injury against Parma AC two months ago.

'Fit of despondency'
Signori reportedly threatened to give up football after the setback but Bologna coach Francesco Guidolin said the comments were made in a "fit of despondency".

International honours
The forward, who made his name with S.S. Lazio in the 1990s, is a former Italian international with seven goals in 27 games for Italy. Prior to this campaign, he had scored 15 goals in each of his previous three seasons with Bologna.

Stunning free-kick
The club are in third place in Serie A after a bright start to the season, mostly inspired by Signori. The veteran scored a stunning free-kick to give them an opening-day league victory over Atalanta but played only two more matches before going down with the injury.
