AEK Athens moved to the top of the Ethniki Katigoria after Christos Maladenis scored the only goal in a 1-0 win against OFI Crete on Sunday.

Inspired goalkeeping
Maladenis's 61st-minute strike, along with some inspired goalkeeping from Dionissis Chiotis, ensured that AEK moved a point above Olympiakos Piraeus FC after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Xanthi FC.

Two red cards
Both sides were reduced to ten men in the tenth minute at the OAKA Spiros Louis stadium as Jose Zé Elias of Olympiakos and Xanthi's Dimitris Zografakis were sent off. Abduraheem Wakili put the champions ahead after 25 minutes but Paraskevas Antzas levelled the scores three minutes after the break.

Konstantinu on target
Panathinaikos FC moved into third place in the table after beating FC Aris Thessaloniki 2-1. Michalis Konstantinou put the home side ahead after nine minutes and they wasted the opportunity to extend the lead when Giorgos Karagunis's spot kick was saved by Alexandros Dellios. Aris drew level shortly after the interval when Ilija Ivic scored but Konstantinu restored Panathinaikos's lead in the 56th minute.

PAOK come from behind
FC PAOK Thessaloniki had to come from behind to beat bottom club Aigaleo 3-1 after falling behind to a Nikos Nikolopulos goal in the first minute. Yiannakis Okkas, Yasemis Yasemakis and Giorgios Georgiadis, with a penalty, hit back for PAOK.

Akratitos ease past Panahaiki
Akratitos swept aside Panahaiki GC with ease as they won 3-1, with Panayiotis Ziakkas scoring twice. His first-half double was added to in the second half when Vangelis Kefalas put the ball through his own goal. An 89th-minute strike from Kostas Katsuranis was little more than a consolation goal for Panahaiki.

Iraklis held
Iraklis FC fought out a goalless draw with Ethnikos Piraeus, while Ionikos and Panionios GS drew 1-1, with goals from Luis Curbelo and Elias Ioannu both coming in the first half.
