Article body
Beaten last week
The hosts, beaten 1-0 at title-chasing Legia Warszawa in their opening game in the champions group last week, found themselves in trouble again when Jan Wos fired Ruch in front after 39 minutes.
Goals in quick succession
But Katowice hit back dramatically with two goals in quick succession before half-time. Winger Marek Kubisz equalised when he netted his fifth of the season in the 41st minute and just before the interval, defender Marcin Janus made his presence felt in the opposition box to notch the second.
Dents title chances
The result dents Ruch's title chances but is not enough to lift Katowice off the bottom of the table.
Lubin held
In the relegation group, Zaglebie Lubin wasted the chance to move five points clear at the top when they were held 1-1 at home by Widzew Lódz.
Rachwal levels
Lubin, the only team to record a win in the last round, looked set to pick up three points when defender Edward Cecot put them ahead in the 28th minute. But Widzew midfielder Patryk Rachwal, on loan from FC Energie Cottbus, earned a share of the spoils when he hit the target six minutes before half-time.
Still in danger
The draw lifts Widzew two points clear of rock-bottom Stomil Losztyn but they remain in danger.
