Polish coach Janus Wojcik has parted company with Anorthosis Famagusta FC just ten games into the Cypriot season.

Polish coach Janus Wojcik has parted company with Anorthosis Famagusta FC just ten games into the Cypriot season after the club suffered two defeats in a row and dropped to fourth in Division A.

Title race
Anorthosis led the league standings for eight consecutive rounds but defeats by Omonia Nicosia FC and Olympiakos Nicosia FC knocked the Famagusta club off the top spot with APOEL Nicosia FC now leading the championship race.

Unacceptable performance
The loss to Olympiakos in round ten prompted the club to fine the players €1750 each for what it deemed an unacceptable performance, while Polish midfield player Slawomir Majak was suspended for one round after he lashed out at an assistant referee during their last game.

Olympic coach
A former coach of Legia Warszawa and the Polish Olympic team, Wojcik is the sixth coach to leave a top-flight club this season. His assitant, Nikolai Kosdov, has taken over coaching duties while the club search for a full-time successor.
