Article body
BV Borussia Dortmund's boys from Brazil scored three times in the final 13 minutes to send 1. FC Kaiserslautern crashing to a fourth successive away defeat in the 1. Bundesliga on Sunday.
Third place
Marcio Amoroso, who was almost left on the bench for the game, hit a double to add to an opener from fellow countryman Ewerthon Henrique. Dortmund climb above Kaiserslautern and are now in third place in the Bundesliga, five points behind leaders Bayer 04 Leverkusen.
Duo earn reprieve
Amoroso, along with strike-partner Jan Koller, earned a reprieve from coach Matthias Sammer despite frustrating the former Germany captain with their performances in the 1-0 UEFA Cup victory against FC København on Thursday.
Koch on form
Lincoln Cássio had the best chance for Kaiserslautern, but he shot wide from just inside the area ten minutes before the break. Goalkeeper Georg Koch was the visitors' saviour for the third time in the 72nd minute, pushing Miroslav Stevic's 20-metre drive away from the top corner.
Clever free-kick
The 29-year-old keeper had no chance five minutes later, as he was beaten by Ewerthon's clever free-kick from the edge of the area. That single strike was all that separated the sides until Amoroso's double intervention in the last three minutes. He netted his first from the spot after he was brought down by Tomasz Klos and added a second in injury time, when he got the better of Klos again before drilling the ball past Koch for his ninth goal of the season.
1860 in charge
In Sunday's other match, TSV 1860 München earned a valuable three points with a convincing 3-1 away win against SC Freiburg.
Hässler on target
Bulgarian international Daniel Borimirov put 1860 in front after 23 minutes, before Andreas Zeyer levelled the scores with his 28th-minute strike. Thomas Hässler gave the visitors a 2-1 half-time lead when he netted in the 40th minute. Markus Schroth added another after the break and 1860 are now ninth in the table, one spot above Freiburg.
