SC Farense have dismissed coach Alberto Pazos despite ending a run of three straight defeats with a win at the weekend.
Relegation worry
Pazos guided the team to a 1-0 victory over SC Beira Mar on Sunday courtesy of a goal from Brazilian striker Ferreira but before that the team had lost three consecutive games by the same 2-0 scoreline. Farense are just three points above the relegation places in Portugal's I. Divisão.
Third coach out
The Spaniard first came to Portugal in 1997/98 to take an assistant coaching job at SC Braga. He took over at Farense before the start of the 2001/02 season, replacing Manuel Balela. Pazos is the third coach to lose his job in the first division this season.
