Moldova: Sheriff move eleven points clear

FC Sheriff Tiraspol moved eleven points clear at the top of the Divizia Nationala in Moldova on Wednesday after a 1-0 victory at closest rivals FC Nistru Otaci.

Striker Ruslan Barburos slotted home a 70th-minute penalty to take all three points in this rearranged clash. Barburos now leads the league's goalscoring charts with nine goals, ahead of FC Constructorul-93 Chisinau frontman Andriy Nesteruk who has seven strikes to his name.

Still unbeaten
The victory means that Sheriff remain unbeaten, with ten wins and three draws from their 13 matches so far.

Gap closed
FC Zimbru Chisinau closed the gap on second-placed Nistru to just a point with a 2-1 win at FC Tiligul Tiraspol in the day's other rearranged match.

Olexici winner
Trailing at the break to Serghei Belous' goal in first-half injury time, Iurie Miterev hammered in the equaliser with 20 minutes remaining before Ghenadii Olexici snatched a winning goal two minutes from time.
