FC Lokomotiv Tbilisi's Georgian Premier League challenge hit the buffers on Friday after they fell to a shock 2-1 home defeat at the hands of FC Sioni Bolnisi.
Two down at the break
The hosts were never really in the match as they sought to slash FC Torpedo Kutaisi's advantage at the top to just two points and they were two goals down at half-time. Shalva Isiani stunned the hosts with the opening goal after 20 minutes and the points were effectively won six minutes before the break when he added his second goal of the game.
Lokomotiv huff and puff
Lokomotiv huffed and puffed in the second half but struggled to break down an organised Sioni defence before David Goderdzishvili reduced the deficit in the 89th minute. But it proved to be too little too late for his side, who remain five points adrift of Torpedo but seven clear of FC Merani-91 Tbilisi.
