Hapoel Tel-Aviv moved to the top of Israeli Premier League table after a 2-1 victory against Hapoel Petach-Tikva on Thursday night. However, they had to come from behind after Moti Kakun lobbed home keeper Shavit Elimelech to give Petach-Tikva the lead after half an hour.
Hosts equalise
The hosts struck back in controversial circumstances, on the stroke of half-time. Gabor Halmai picked up a rebound from a corner and unleashed a drive that was blocked, but referee Eitan Tabrizi adjudged that it had crossed the line and awarded a goal. Sergey Klachenko made sure of the points for Tel-Aviv on 74 minutes when he met Ishtavan Pishont's cross to head the winner.
