Switzerland defender Raphael Wicky has joined 1. Bundesliga club Hamburger SV from Spanish second division side Club Atlético de Madrid on a free transfer, the German club announced on Thursday.
Previous experience
The 24-year-old, who played in the Bundesliga for SV Werder Bremen from 1997 until January this year, signed a contract until the end of the season with an option for another three years.
Second recruit
He becomes Hamburg's second recruit this week after Danish Under-21 international striker Kim Christensen joined on Wednesday from Superligaen side Lyngby FC. Christensen, who also arrived on a free transfer, is tied to the club until 2005.
