Derby County FC captain Craig Burley will be out of action until January following an operation on his knee, the FA Premiership club said on Wednesday.
Cartilage problem
The Scotland international had the cartilage in his right knee surgically repaired after an operation identified the problem which has kept him on the sidelines since late last month.
Official announcement
"Craig is expected be out of action until the new year with the injury that he sustained at Newcastle on 24 November," said a statement on the club's official website. Derby lost 1-0 at Newcastle and are currently 19th in the 20-team league.
