Dream come true
"The transfer is a dream for me, Werder Bremen are one of the biggest clubs in Germany and are greatly respected in Switzerland," said Magnin. "Not so many Swiss players get the chance to play abroad and I am delighted to be one of them. I am very much looking forward to this huge challenge."
'Technically brilliant'
Maginin was one of the key performers as Switzerland qualified for the 2002 UEFA European Under-21 Championships. Bremen’s director of sport Klaus Allofs said: "Magnin is a fast and technically brilliant player who can play both in defence and midfield. He has got huge potential and because he speaks a number of languages, it won't be a problem to integrate him into the squad."
