Ivic sidelined
The 48-year-old, who won the title with Marseille in 1972 as a player and coached OGC Nice in the first division in the mid-90s, took over from Tomislav Ivic after the Croatian coach was taken to hospital with breathing problems at the beginning of December.
Former assistant
Emon had previously worked as Ivic's assistant at the Vélodrome stadium and was delighted for the opportunity to keep control of the side. "I was hoping for that," Emon said about his appointment until the end of the season. "Marseille are one of the greatest teams in France."
