Article body
Serghei Rogaciov has been named Moldovan player of the year for the second time. The Moldovan international striker, who won the award in 1996, finished ahead of second-placed Serghei Clescenco of Hapoel Tel-Aviv and his FC Saturn Ramenskoye team-mate Radu Rebeja, who was third.
Injury problems
Rogaciov enjoyed a fine season in the Vysshaya Liga, netting 14 goals for Saturn and finishing second in the goalscoring charts. He was denied a move to Sweden after talks with Allsvenskan team Hammarby IF FF broke down earlier this year.
Zimbru domination
FC Zimbru Chisinau dominated the other awards. Zimbru's Denis Romanenco took the goalkeeper's prize, while Valeriu Catinsus and Serghei Iepureanu were voted best defender and midfielder. FC Sheriff Tiraspol's Ruslan Barburos took the striker's award.
Coach of the year
The coach's award went to Alexandru Spiridon, who managed the Moldovan Under-21 side and then took over as head coach of the senior side following Alexandr Matiura's departure in July. FC Tiligul Tiraspol won the Fair Play award.
