Omonia FC have been given the opportunity to avenge their league hammering at the hands of Alki FC after being drawn against them in the second round of the Cypriot Cup.
Heavy defeat
The champions suffered a heavy 5-1 defeat last weekend against Alki, a result that has been classed by many as the worst domestic result in the club’s history.
Cup ambitions
The other big game to come out of the draw is the Olympiakos Nicosia FC-Anorthosis Famagusta FC encounter which is sure to attract a big crowd.
Division B clash
There is a clash of the Division B giants as Nea Salamis FC - who knocked Division A leaders APOEL Nicosia FC out of the competition in round one - take on fellow title contenders Digenis Morfou FC.

Apollon Limassol FC face rising AEP Paphos FC in what should be a hard-fought contest while Enosis Neon Paralimni FC take on AEK Larnaca FC. AEL Limassol FC landed bottom league side Ermis Aradippos FC while relegation strugglers Doxa Katokopia FC will meet Ethnikos Achnas FC. Ethnikos Ashias FC – also deep in the relegation mire – have a relatively easy game at home to Division B side AEZ Zakakiou FC.
