Omonia FC avenged their embarrassing 5-1 defeat by Alki FC in the league on Sunday, beating their rivals 4-0 in the second round, first leg of the Cypriot Cup.

Strong support
Two goals each from Rainer Rauffmann and Vesko Mihajlovic gave the Cypriot champions a comfortable win over Ilie Dumitrescu's men in front a strong 13,000 Omonia crowd.

Rauffmann on target
Rauffmann broke the deadlock on 20 minutes after the German striker picked up a pass from Gunter Thiebaut and fired the ball past a helpless Michalis Shimitras. Mihajlovic made it 2-0 in the 32nd minute from the penalty spot following a foul on Kostas Kaiafas by Andreas Parpas.
